Uninstall the DeskTrust Agent

Follow the steps for your operating system below. If your organization's DeskTrust account has been closed, the agent will no longer record — you can safely remove it at any time.

Windows

  1. Right-click the DeskTrust tray icon (bottom-right, next to the clock) and choose Quit. If you don't see the icon, skip this step.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Add or Remove Programs on older Windows).
  3. Find DeskTrust in the list and click Uninstall.
  4. If the uninstaller reports a file is in use, open Task Manager, end any node.exe or DeskTrust processes, then retry.
  5. Optional: delete the folder C:\Program Files\DeskTrust\ and %APPDATA%\DeskTrust\ to remove leftover config.

macOS

  1. Click the DeskTrust menu-bar icon and choose Quit.
  2. Open Applications, find DeskTrust, and drag it to the Trash.
  3. In Terminal, run launchctl unload ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.desktrust.agent.plist and remove that plist file if present.
  4. Empty the Trash.

Linux

  1. Stop the agent: pkill -f desktrust.
  2. Remove the install directory (typically /opt/desktrust or ~/desktrust-agent).
  3. Remove any systemd unit or autostart entry you may have added.
