How support teams use DeskTrust Connect

By The DeskTrust Team

Customer support teams are the highest-value use case for DeskTrust Connect. Here\'s what a typical Tuesday looks like with the whole stack replaced.

The stack you were paying for

  • Slack — where agents ask supervisors questions
  • Zoom — where supervisors run team standups
  • TeamViewer — where a senior rep coaches a new hire through a stuck ticket
  • A screen-recording tool — for QA

Four vendors. Different logins. Different audit trails. Different bills.

The Connect version

All four move into DeskTrust:

  1. Agent asks a supervisor a question. Uses the team chat room that\'s auto-provisioned per Group. Supervisor replies from the same tab where they\'re already watching agent activity.
  2. Team standup at 9 AM. Supervisor clicks the video call button in the team room. Six agents\' tabs ring. Grid view + active-speaker highlighting. Standup wraps in 10.
  3. New hire stuck on a ticket. Senior rep clicks "View screen" on the new hire\'s row in Dashboard → Employees. Adds a reason: "help with refund flow on 8821." New hire approves in one click, picks their CRM window. Live coaching in 5 minutes.
  4. QA review. The coaching session was auto-recorded (recording feature on for the org). QA lead opens /dashboard/recordings, filters by manager_view sessions this week, spot-checks 3.

What changes for the agents

  • One tab, not four. Their support tool + chat + calls + screen sharing all in DeskTrust.
  • Consent-first screen viewing means they see every request. No confusion about when they\'re being observed.
  • Green presence dots on colleagues tell them who\'s free to help.

What changes for supervisors

  • See agent status (online, paused, away, offline) in the same place they message them.
  • Screen view for coaching is one click from the employee row. No waiting for the agent to accept a TeamViewer session.
  • Sessions auto-record. Nothing to remember.

What changes for the QA / compliance team

  • Every screen-view request lives in a single audit log at /dashboard/screen-view-audit. Filter by event type, actor, or target. Every approved session links to its recording.
  • Recording retention is per-org configurable. Default 30 days is enough for most complaint windows.
  • Access control: only participants, supervisors of the involved employee, and org admins can play back a recording. Not everyone in the company.

What you cancel

For a 20-agent support team:

  • Slack — save ~$200/month
  • Zoom — save ~$300/month
  • TeamViewer (2 seats for supervisors) — save ~$100/month

~$600/month back in the budget, or $7,200/year. And the audit trail is now unified in one place.

What you don\'t give up

  • Call quality on normal networks (~99% of support-agent home + office setups)
  • Screen viewing quality (WebM VP8 at 15fps is more than fine for CRM walkthroughs)
  • Recording quality for QA review

Try Connect on a 4-agent pilot for two weeks. If nothing breaks, expand.
